Lord Speaker Fowler stands down to campaign on HIV and Aids

The Speaker of the House of Lords has announced his retirement from the role.

Lord Fowler, a previous Conservative MP, will stand down in April, although his term of office was supposed to run until September.

The former health secretary will campaign on HIV and AIDS issues.
