Liverpool's Coman bid rejected plus Klopp urged to sign Sanches

Liverpool supporters will be keen to move on from the 2020/21 Premier League season.

Despite clinching third position against all the odds, Jurgen Klopp’s side endured a campaign that continued to throw up challenges along the way to the finish line in May.

The Reds will be hoping for a more successful season as they look to challenge Manchester City for the league title once again.

Signings in various departments are likely to be needed in order to make this possible, with other sides also expected to heavily invest in their squads.

But who could be on their way to Anfield?

Mirror Sport have rounded up the latest rumours…

Liverpool could secure the signing of Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman from Bayern Munich this summer, it has emerged.

The Frenchman has spent six successful seasons with the German giants and is under contract until 2022.

It has been claimed that the Reds have submitted an offer of €35m (£30m) for the 23-year-old, but have been told to up their bid to €50m (£42m) – as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via beIN Sports ).

Karius provides update on future

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has shared an update on his future at the club, making clear that there are plenty of options open to him.

The German shot-stopper has spent the last three seasons out on loan, on the back of his night to forget in the 2018 Champions League final against Real Madrid.

Karius’ most recent loan spell was at Bundesliga side Union Berlin and he is yet to make a decision on what his next step will be this summer.

“You should never exclude anything. Last year I was gone – and I would have been in the Liverpool goal two weeks later due to injuries in the goalkeeping position: But I don’t always want to be dependent on such factors, you don’t want your colleagues to do that either,” he told German publication Bild.

“I keep all options open and will make the right decision for myself.”

Liverpool have been told to consider signing Renato Sanches as a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum.

Sanches lifted the Ligue 1 title with Lille last season and has turned his career around in impressive style, having failed to impress during an underwhelming loan spell with Swansea City in the 2017/18 campaign.

The Portuguese midfielder is still only 23 years of age and former Reds defender Jose Enrique views Sanches as a player Klopp should target in the transfer window.

“This [Sanches] is the man I want to replace Gini. He steps up on the big stage,” said the Spaniard on Instagram.

“This man is an absolute engine and knows how to dictate a midfield like Gini did. He’s physically a level above others, he seems like a perfect fit for Klopp. He also has that creative aspect which Gini had.”
