The Reds delivered a pitiful defence of their first domestic crown in 30 years, but finished the season superbly to steal an unlikely third position.
That gives Klopp’s men all the momentum heading into the crucial summer months, and they cannot afford to give their rivals the upper-hand by being dormant in the transfer window.
The attraction of Champions League football at a revitalised Anfield will make Liverpool an attractive transfer destination this summer.
Mirror Football rounded up the latest transfer news surrounding Anfield.
Liverpool eye Tielemans as Wijnaldum replacement
Liverpool are said to be targeting Leicester City’s FA Cup hero Youri Tielemans as a direct replacement for outgoing midfielder Gini Wijnaldum.
Wijnaldum is set to depart Anfield this summer upon his contract expiry and La Liga giants Barcelona have been tipped to snap up the Dutch international.
That leaves a hole in Klopp’s squad and some claims have suggested Tielemans could be the man to replace him.
Who should Liverpool sign this summer? Comment below
According to Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad, Tielemans is ambitious and was left devastated that the Foxes missed out on Champions League qualification on the final day of the season.
It Is added that the Belgian star wants to play at the highest level, which could pique the interest of Liverpool in one of the league’s most in-form midfielders.
But a move appears unlikely at this stage with Leicester in no position where they have to sell one of their prized assets.
Burnley make Phillips enquiry
Burnley have reportedly made an enquiry for Liverpool’s unexpected star defender Nat Phillips.
Phillips, 24, stepped up under immense pressure for Klopp’s men last season after injuries to Van Dijk and Gomez.
The central defender started 18 games in all competitions and helped the club seal elite European football with two consecutive clean sheets in the final league games.
But the return of Van Dijk and Gomez next season will make Phillips’ game-time limited.
Phillips’ consistency towards the end of the season appears to be making him an attractive proposition for Premier League sides.
Six Liverpool stars in line for contract talks
Liverpool look set to reward the loyalty of several first-team stars by opening new contract discussions.
Klopp has built a strong core of winners over the last three seasons and he is not about to break that up as he aims to bridge the gap to champions Manchester City next season.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Fabinho, Van Dijk, Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah are all set for talks over fresh terms at Anfield.
Van Dijk’s absence last season only highlighted his importance, while Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson have transcended the way the Reds have played over the last few years.
Alisson remains one of the league’s best goalkeepers and his header at West Brom was vital in Champions League qualification.
Meanwhile, Salah was Liverpool’s best player, finishing behind only Harry Kane in the Golden Boot race.
