Liverpool face an important transfer window and have begun the summer promisingly, capturing central defender Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig.
Central defence was always going to be a key issue with it looking unlikely that the Reds will make Ozan Kabak’s loan deal permanent, with the futures of Nathaniel Phillips and Ben Davies also uncertain.
Georginio Wijnaldum’s midfield exit will likely lead to increasing influence for Curtis Jones but a new central midfielder is likely to be targeted.
There are a number of fringe players at Anfield who may be cashed in upon to raise funds for rejuvenating the squad.
With that in mind, here are the latest transfer rumours surrounding Liverpool.
Two players tipped for exit
Liverpool’s current transfer priority is selling players with Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri both expected to be sold this summer.
Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano says that the club are expecting offers to arrive for both players, although no clubs are directly mentioned with either player.
Origi and Shaqiri have failed to establish themselves in the first-team at Anfield under Jurgen Klopp, with an acknowledgement that the club now must sell before reinvesting further this summer.
Romano told The Here We Go Podcast, as cited by Give Me Sport : “They are working to sell players. So, the priority also to bring in a new attacking player is to sell an attacking player and Shaqiri will be one of them because he has some proposals from Italy and not only, so Shaqiri will be out of Liverpool in some weeks if the right proposal will arrive.
“It’s the same for Origi. They want more than €20million (£17.1million) for Origi so we’ll see if someone will make this proposal.”
Pellegrini set to stay
Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini had been linked with a move to Liverpool this summer but he now looks set to stay in the Italian capital.
That is according to a report in Corriere dello Sport , as cited by Teamtalk, which claims that new Roma boss Jose Mourinho is confident of keeping the midfielder – who suffered from injuries this season.

The 24-year-old has already clocked up 152 first-team appearances for the Giallorossi and is keen to stay at the club for many years, to emulate club legend Francesco Totti.
Pellegrini had reportedly been viewed as a potential replacement for Gini Wijnaldum at Anfield, but that move is looking increasingly less likely and Jurgen Klopp may now need to turn his attention elsewhere.
Deal ‘agreed’ for teenage star
Liverpool have beaten off competition from Manchester United to land Fatawu Issahaku from Ghanaian club Steadfast FC.
The 17-year-old has been capped up to Under-20 level for the African nation and the Reds have agreed terms on a deal, according to a report in Anfield Central.
He has scored eight goals and assisted another five for his club side in 13 appearances and is said to be one of the highest rated teenage stars in Africa.
It is now reported that despite late interest from Premier League rivals United, Issahaku is now expected to join the setup at Anfield.
