Premier Player Asia to air rugby union tour in 23 countries.

Dublin-based pay-TV broadcaster Premier Sports has secured the exclusive broadcast rights to the 2021 British and Irish Lions rugby union tour across 23 Asian territories.
The Premier Player Asia streaming platform will begin its coverage by airing the Lions warmup match against Japan at Murrayfield on 26th June.
Premier Sports also have live coverage of South Africa’s warmup games against Georgia in July, although timing and dates for those have yet to be confirmed.
The contract covers all eight tour fixtures, including three Tests against the Springboks, which will take place behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 situation in the country.
Premier Player Asia’s broadcast contract for the Lions tour of South Africa secures exclusivity in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Premier Sports rolled out its live and on-demand streaming service in the Asian market last year following the acquisition of international rugby union rights in multiple countries across the region. Its portfolio includes Europe’s Six Nations Test tournament, Super Rugby, Gallagher Premiership and the new United Rugby Championship (URC).
