Leeds United plan to sit down with Patrick Bamford’s representatives to offer him a significant payrise in order to convicne the striker to stay at Elland Road.

Many questioned the 27-year-old’s ability to make the step-up to the Premier League given his struggles in the past with the likes of Chelsea and Crystal Palace.

However, Bamford has responded emphatically with ten goals in 17 appearances for Marcelo Bielsa’s side this term and Leeds are desperate to keep the Englishman.

Bamford has just 18 months left on his deal and Leeds want to avoid the striker’s situation to run until the summer, when a year left on his contract could attract suitors from around the Premier League.

The Sun claim Leeds are therefore desperate to resolve Bamford’s situation and want to offer the striker a bumper new deal.

Bamford currently earns around £35,000-a-week at Elland Road but he can expect a significant increase on that – should he decide to stay at the club.

Bamford joined Leeds in 2018 and he’s bagged 35 goals in 86 appearances for the club, ten of which have come in the club’s first season back in the Premier League.
