Love Island officially returns to our screens tonight. Are you excited? Of course you are. We’ve got our personalised water bottles at the ready and are dying to see who is whose type on paper.
“This is my first time at the iconic villa in Mallorca, and I’m so excited to show you around,” she says, starting in the garden which boats “the most amazing views of Mallorca” from that famous pool.
The swing seat is making a comeback – you know, the one where contestants always get pulled “for a chat” – as is the outdoor kitchen and day beds. The hideaway is back with some “new secret drawers” (three guesses as to what’s in there), the terrace is looking as chic as ever, and “the dressing room is as tidy as it’ll ever be,” Laura quips.
New additions to the impossibly gorgeous villa this year is an outdoor mirror selfie “perfect for taking those group pictures” and some “very cheeky” headboards in the bedroom (featuring the likes of bananas, aubergines – you get the idea). There’s also a new entrance hall with neon artwork.
The lounge is also home to the brutal “the dog house” where DMCs and savage lovers’ tiffs are sure to ensue, and the bathroom is “fully stocked” for our contestants to get their pre-fire pit glam on.
“The villa is ready and we are about to put our sexy singles in,” Laura says. “So why not join us for the ultimate summer of love?”
Yep, we are unashamedly excited.
Love Island will return to ITV2 on Monday 28th June at 9pm and is available on demand via ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
