Kim Kardashian has met with another death row inmate as she continues her training to become a lawyer.

The reality star, 40, met with Julius Jones, who was sentenced to death over the murder of a man in 1999 when he was 19 years old.

According to TMZ, Kim met with the prisoner, who was convicted of first degree murder in 2002 for shooting 45-year-old Paul Howell.

She is said to have met with his family at a nearby church after promising to help Julius Jones and his legal team to fight against his execution.

TMZ reports that his mother got emotional during the meeting with Kim and told her that she had been with her son on the night of the murder.

Kim is said to have found out about the case from watching The Last Defense, produced by Viola Davis and focusing on Julius Jones’ arrest and trial, and pushed a petition in support of him online.

TMZ reports that critics of the case claim there was little to tie him to the scene as well as a poor legal defence.

Kim has been training to become a lawyer like her father, Robert Kardashian who was famously on the defence team for the OJ Simpson murder trial, and has helped others who were wrongfully convicted be granted clemency.

She says the career change has been ‘in her soul for years’ to follow in her father’s footsteps: ‘I think that by the time I was a teenager and [my dad] was working on the O.J. case, I was sneaking in his office, looking at all of the evidence and things I shouldn’t have been looking at.

‘Maybe it was in my soul for years that that’s what I would have wanted to do. And I’ve even seen interviews pop up now from six or seven years ago.

‘People ask what I wanted to do if I wasn’t filming my show. I always said I wanted to be a crime scene investigator or an attorney.

‘There are times when I could be frustrated and up studying really late and have to get up and wonder how he did it having four kids.

‘He must’ve been going through some of the same things that I have gone through. It would have been exciting to talk to him about that, and I know that he would be so, so proud.’
