We don’t really know what Christmas will look like this year, but there’s one tradition which is still very much on the table.

Royal Mail has opened its ‘Letters to Santa’ scheme, which means kids can write to Mr Claus this year.

Kids who write to Santa will receive a reply from the ‘North Pole’ – they just need to make sure they post their letters by 11 December.

Any parent looking to use the service, simply needs to get their little one to write a letter with their full name and address. Then drop the letter into an envelope with a stamp and send it to Santa’s ‘address’ provided by Royal Mail.

It seems Santa has been in touch with Royal Mail, too, and left them the following message on the website: ‘Dear boys and girls, Christmas is a very exciting but busy time for me.

‘The elves are making toys, the reindeer are practising their sleigh runs and I’m busy preparing my list of who’s been good this year.

‘I will be getting my sleigh ready for the long journey on Christmas Eve and in between I will try to reply to as many of you as possible.

‘Please send your letters to: Santa/Father Christmas, Santa’s Grotto, Reindeerland, XM4 5HQ.’

Anyone looking to receive a message in Welsh should post it to: Sion Corn, Ogof Sion Corn, Gwlad Y Ceirw, XM4 5HQ.

Father Christmas advises children and their parents to do three things: write Santa’s address carefully on the envelope, put a stamp on the envelope so it arrives safely and to include a child’s full name and address in the letter.

Thank goodness we have something joyful to cling onto as the festive season approaches.
