Khabib Nurmagomedov believes Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are among the four best boxers on the planet and wants to see the two heavyweights clash in a monumental fight.

The MMA legend has retired from fighting at the age of just 32 after defending his UFC lightweight title against Justin Gaethje on Saturday night.

He took his record to a perfect 29-0 with the second round submission of the Highlight and ends his career on a soaring high point after a sublime performance.

The undefeated star is a big fan of two other fighters who have never lost in the professional ranks – Fury and Usyk – who he ranks alongside Vasyl Lomachenko and Canelo Alvarez as the best boxers on the planet.

A fight between the Brit and the Ukrainian could happen in the future, although does not look likely any time soon, but is top of Khabib’s wishlist.

‘I really want to see Usyk vs Fury. It’s going to be a very good fight,’ the Eagle told Sky Sports. ‘He [Usyk] has very good skill and technique, Tyson Fury too.

‘[Usyk] is not like other heavyweights, more technique, his footwork is very good, his conditioning is very good, I really want to watch Usyk against Fury.’

Usyk is looking to put his name in the heavyweight title picture with a win over Dereck Chisora this Saturday night, in only his second fight in the division.

The 33-year-old has racked up a perfect record of 17-0, but 16 of those wins came at cruiserweight, with his only heavyweight victory over Chazz Witherspoon.

However, a win over Chisora puts him in line to take on Anthony Joshua, the holder of the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO titles.

When that will be is far from clear as Joshua and Fury plan to fight next year, as long as they win their upcoming bouts in December. Joshua against Kubrat Pulev and Fury against an as-yet unnamed opponent.

Usyk will be left with the choice of fighting again to keep busy or waiting it out to scrap with the winner of the all-British showdown.
