Keylor Navas gives cheeky wink to old Madrid rival Courtois after ex-Chelsea keeper’s blunder helps PSG to 3-0 win

KEYLOR NAVAS finally got his redemption on Wednesday night and couldn’t resist revelling in Paris Saint-Germain’s victory by winding up Thibaut Courtois.

The Costa Rican handed in his transfer request this summer having grown fed up of playing second fiddle to Courtois at Real Madrid.

He sealed his switch to the French capital and in a small twist of fate, the two sides drew each other in their Champions League group.

Navas, 32, was given the nod between the sticks and their 3-0 victory over Real Madrid was made even sweeter by Courtois’ shocker in goal.

Juan Bernat’s cross was stabbed home by Angel Di Maria to beat him at his near post.

His misery was compounded by conceding two more to leave Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane feeling the heat on his return to the club as manager.

But there was little sympathy from Navas.

After the full-time whistle a photo emerged of Navas appearing to wink at his fellow team-mate.

He was later quizzed on his relationship with Courtois but insists he did not leave because of their rivalry.

Navas said: “I did not leave Real Madrid because of that.

“I left because my family and I thought this was the best option for us. I was welcomed as if I had been here for a very long time.

“The best I can give is to defend these colours to the death, to work hard and to try to win important games.”
