Kerry Katona defends her £1 million OnlyFans empire

Kerry Katona has lashed out at OnlyFans over their failed attempt to have sexually explicit material banned from the website.

The 40-year-old former pop singer claims to have made £1 million from the website after sharing explicit material of her own which fans have been able to buy through subscribing to the controversial website.

Earlier this month, OnlyFans made the surprise announcement that they were planning to ban x-rated material from being uploaded to the website – only to reverse the decision last week.

And the news struck fear and fury into Kerry – who has blasted the owners of the website for even contemplating removing explicit content as OnlyFans is so popular with sex workers.

She told New! magazine: “OnlyFans has now scrapped its plans to ban sexually explicit content from its website.

“I think it was awful to consider banning it in the first place, particularly for those ladies who have given up their jobs to put everything into this.

“People should be allowed to do what they want with their bodies.”

She added: “Since I was 17, people have taken advantage of my body. If ever I was on the beach topless, my body was written about.

“But this is my body and I will make money from it and I will do what I want to do.”

Since initially planning to ban porn from their website, OnlyFans have performed a reverse ferret following a backlash from adult content creators that use the site.

Following outcry on social media – and plans to boycott the website by many content creators – the owners of OnlyFans decided not to ban x-rated material from being shared.

Announcing their renewed plans last week, the owners announced via Twitter : “Thank you to everyone for making your voices heard.

“We have secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community and have suspended the planned October 1 policy change.

“OnlyFans stands for inclusion and we will continue to provide a home for all creators.”

They added that an email with further details was to be sent out to users of the website.

Meanwhile, Kerry has proudly discussed her use of OnlyFans in the past – and has revealed that her teenage daughters often help her by taking the photos she then shares online for fans to purchase.

The star clashed with The Real Housewives of Jersey star Tessa Hartmann during a debate about children’s swimwear on Good Morning Britain earlier this year.

Writing in her column for New! magazine soon after their fiery discussion, Kerry wrote: “I couldn’t believe the cheap shot she gave me about the kids but I shut her down pretty quick.

“I’m sure she is embarrassed about it but I’m delighted she gave me publicity for my OnlyFans account. It has gone through the roof now!

“I think she knew she was losing the debate and didn’t know what else to say. I wish her all the best.”
