Katie Price once admitted that her children had warned her against using drugs again following her 2018 stint in rehab. The star pleaded guilty to drink driving in court on Wednesday
Katie Price’s children warned their mum that they would never speak to her again if she touched cocaine before her car crash.
The former model, 43, headed to The Priory today after pleading guilty to drink-driving after her rolled BMW was discovered in the road near her home this week.
She underwent treatment at the same rehab facility in 2018 after after admitting to using cocaine to ‘block things out’ following a string of problems in her personal life.
Speaking about the ordeal in March this year, Katie said that on her return from the £3,640 a week clinic her kids gave her an ultimatum that they would cut off contact if she touched drugs again.
“My kids thought I had lost the plot and was partying,” she told The Sun.
“They didn’t realise it was me breaking down trying to block things out – they needed to know the truth.
“All the kids say that I am so much better now. But they say, ‘mum if you ever get back to how you were, we are never going to speak to you again.'”
She added that she let her children know they “never have to worry” as she promised to never use cocaine again.
The star is mother to five children; Harvey, whose estranged father is former footballer Dwight Yorke, Junior and Princess Tiamii with ex husband, Peter Andre and Jett and Bunny with ex husband Kieran Hayler, who she split from when he cheated with her best friend.
This Katie appeared at Crawley Magistrate’s Court following her arrest on suspicion of drink driving after crashing her BMW near her home.
During Wednesday’s hearing, the court heard how the mum-of-five admitted to officers attending the scene of the crash that she had taken drugs.
“I took drugs, I should not be driving, I admit it all,” the mum-of-five is alleged to have said.
The media personality had been driving whilst disqualified when she was involved in a single-car collision that left her BMW flipped on its side on the B2135 near Partridge Green.
Defence solicitor Joe Harrington described the incident as a ‘one off’ and revealed that the star had been going through some ‘personal problems’ lately.
Katie was told that her sentencing has been deferred until December 15 to allow her to have treatment at the Priory Centre and speak to the probation service.
Following her arrest earlier this week, Katie’s family spoke out and confessed they had been concerned for the star’s “wellbeing and overall mental health” for some time.
In the statement posted to Katie’s Instagram account, the Price family spoke of their hope that Katie “will realise that she cannot battle her issues alone” and expressed their desire to see a return of “the Kate we know and love as a mother, daughter and sister.”
Two of Katie’s children responded to the message by showing their support for their troubled mother.
Both 16-year-old Junior and 14-year-old Princess commented on the update posted on Katie’s behalf and publicly backed their mother.
Junior wrote: “Love you mum,” followed by a red heart emoji.
Princess added: “Love you mum so much.”
