Katie Price says son Harvey is only person who loves her 'no matter what'

Katie Price has opened up and admits her disabled son Harvey is the only person in her life who “loves me no matter what” as he would never judge her.

Katie’s 19-year-old son suffers from a number of conditions including autism, blindness and the genetic disorder Prader-Willi syndrome, which fans got an insight to with her BBC documentary Katie Price: Harvey and Me.

Since splitting up from Harvey’s dad Dwight Yorke, Katie has been a single parent to her eldest child since he was a baby.

Opening up about their special bond in a new interview, former glamour model Katie admits Harvey has been with her through all of her life’s ups and downs and would never ‘judge’ her on it.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Katie said: “Harvey doesn’t ever judge me. He doesn’t ask questions and he loves me no matter what.

“It’s unconditional love. He doesn’t know anything about what goes on in my world. He’s always excited to see me and it’s so nice.

“He’s the one person that has been there throughout everything in my life – and he still is.”

Katie shares Harvey with former Manchester United footballer Dwight Yorke but the teenager no longer has any contact with his dad, who abandoned him when he was 10 and now lives a jet set life in Dubai.

Harvey recently moved into an assisted living complex in Cheltenham which is three hours from where Katie lives so he can have round-the-clock care. He will live there until he is at least 25.

Mum Katie says she he already has a more independent life and she is so proud of the man he is becoming.

Although they are three hours apart, Katie FaceTimes him twice a day and visits him every weekend.

Katie Price on the honest realities of taking care of Harvey

Despite her tough times recently, Katie plans to take Harvey – who she was once told would never walk or talk – on the road with her to book signings next year and says “everyone loves him”.

She added: “I wanted to share our story because Harvey deserves to have his voice heard. It’s not just for Harvey, but for everyone else who is in a similar situation. Harvey is proof that you’re not limited in life just because you have a disability.

“Writing the book made me realise how far we actually have come. I love him so much and there’s still much more to come.”

Harvey and Me: A Mother’s Love is published by Mirror Books and is on sale now on Amazon.
