Katie McGlynn has set her sights on Hollywood’s bright lights after bowing out of Coronation Street.
The Corrie star, 26, cemented her name in the limelight as long-running character Sinead Tinker on the cobbles seven years ago.
But the Hollywood hopeful divulged she quit the show in October last year in a bid to make it big in the movies after her stint on television.
The blonde bombshell shared her plans to move to Los Angeles as she followed in the footsteps of fellow stars who had found global fame after starring in a British soap.
She told The Sun: “I would try my luck in L.A. (Los Angeles)
“I’ve had some weird and wonderful meetings. All dependent on timing. I am going to LA to chase my dreams. If it doesn’t happen it doesn’t matter.
“It is nerve wracking but it’s exciting. I don’t like not knowing. I would love to play that kind of sassy or evil role, someone like Harley Quinn.”
No doubt Katie was inspired by the likes of soap star Joanna Lumley who started out on Corrie as Ken Barlow’s girlfriend before she starred in Hollywood movies Absolutely Fabulous.
And she would have been impressed by the likes of Nathalie Emmanuel of Hollyoaks fame made it big when she landed a role on Game Of Thrones.
Also Michelle Keegan and Suranne Jones have had huge success in TV dramas since quitting Corrie to chase their acting aspirations beyond the soap spheres.
In preparation for her Hollywood stint, Katie has dropped a dress size after completing a 12-week Ultimate Performance transformation plan.
The actress made tweaks to her diet including a focus on protein high meals and she had to increase her daily step count.
She told upfitness.com: “I am so happy with my overall physical and mental wellbeing after this transformation.
“I’ve lost a dress size, I’ve gained more muscle, I’m getting stronger in the gym. I feel like myself again, finally. I feel like back-to-normal Katie.
“Before the transformation, I don’t want to say I was depressed, but I did feel very down about my weight, mentally and physically I was tired.”
