Kate Ferdinand has posed in her underwear while holding her newborn son Cree as she opened up for the first time about his ‘traumatic birth’.
The former TOWIE star, who welcomed her first child with husband Rio Ferdinand, revealed she underwent an emergency C-section that has left her completely overwhelmed and ‘wiped out.’
In a lengthy post, Kate spoke of the tears she’s cried at being left unable to ‘change or feed her son consistently’ which she said has left her wracked with guilt.
Taking to Instagram to speak about the experience in detail, Kate began by reflecting on her blessings.
“What a bubble this is,” she said. “We are so obsessed with our little angel Cree. I just seem to stare at him for hours on end. Seeing the kids and him is literally what dreams are made of, feeling completely overwhelmed .”
The ex reality star then opened up about her C-section and said she had been left feeling ‘wiped out and exhausted’ since Cree arrived.
She went on: “I wanted to share this with you. This is me … and let me add this is a much better version of me than the last 10 days. After having an emergency c section, and a bit of a traumatic birth I’ve been completely wiped out.
“The happiness has been overwhelming but so have the tears and emotions, I’ve felt like I can’t do what I’m meant to be doing with Cree as I haven’t been able to change or feed him consistently which has had me feeling all types of guilt, for Cree, Rio & that I can’t be doing what I normally do for the kids.
“It’s a whirlwind I just wasn’t expecting … but at the same time the most perfect whirlwind,” explained Kate.
“To be standing up holding my bubba like this is a dream right now .When we are stripped of all the things we can normally do, the small things become extra special.
“Feeling so lucky to have my amazing husband and the kids helping me with everything.
“What an amazing end to a pretty rubbish year,” she signed off, adding: “P.S. for anyone about to give birth, make sure you have a huge stock of big black knickers, the bigger the better.”
Although this is her first child, Kate has been a step-mother to husband Rio’s three children Lorenz, 14, Tate, 12, and Tia, nine since the pair tied the knot in 2019.
In June this year they announced they were expecting their first baby together and shared the the first picture of Cree earlier this month.
On Christmas Eve, the parents delighted their fans by posting a sweet snap of their newborn being cooed over by his siblings,
The happy family was all dressed in matching green Christmas pyjamas as they got together under their tree.
