Karen Gillan wants to separate acting and directing as she admits dream role

Karen Gillan has revealed she no longer wants to direct and act at the same time.

The Hollywood actress directed and starred in The Party’s Just Beginning in 2018 but said she now wants to “separate” the roles when working on a film.

The 32-year-old, who has starred in hit films Avengers: Infinity War, Guardians of the Galaxy and Jumanji, also revealed her dream project would be something “really hard going”.

Karen, from Inverness, said: “I’ve done the filmmaking and acting thing at the same time and it was amazing but also I realised that both of those jobs take everything you’ve got if you are really putting your heart and soul into it so I’ve decided to separate them.

”In terms of a dream project I’d like to have one good crack at a really dramatic role. I feel like I haven’t done so much with that in my career so far.
