Kaiser Chiefs' Ricky Wilson planning a 'HUGE party' after scaled-back wedding to Grace Zito

Ricky Wilson and his new wife Grace Zito have revealed they are planning a ‘huge party’ after their scaled-back wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Kaiser Chiefs star, 43, tied the knot with Grace earlier this month in a socially-distanced and Catholic ceremony with 20 guests at St Patrick’s Church in Huddersfield, where the stylist’s parents and grandparents previously married.

Ricky, who had to postpone their wedding four times due to the pandemic, shared pictures from their honeymoon to Bray, Berkshire, over the weekend.

Talking in a new interview with OK! magazine, which also featured stunning pictures from their big day, Ricky and Grace insisted there will be another ‘huge’ celebration for people who didn’t attend due to restrictions only allowing 30 guests at the time.

During the cosy ceremony, Grace wore a stunning gown which was designed by her close friend Cherry Williams with the couple performing their first dance to The Whole Of The Moon by The Waterboys.

After the wedding at St Patrick’s Church, the newly-married couple enjoyed a romantic reception at Woodcroft Estate where they arrived in a Rolls-Royce Silver Spur II and had confetti made from the plants from the park they got engaged at.

Talking to the magazine from their honeymoon near Ascot after they had to cancel a getaway to their home in Menorca, Spain, Ricky said: ‘It’s not the last opportunity we’ll ever have to have a big party, There’s so much to look forward to in the future now.

‘I feel like it’s a weight off our shoulders. I feel like we can now move on and anything seems possible now. There were loads of friends that couldn’t be there – my band weren’t even there. But we’ve got plenty of opportunity to have a big party and we are going to do it.’

While Grace added: ‘It’s quite nice actually, because there’s so many people who’ve been through exactly the same thing and everyone’s got a story. I think a lot of people are deciding to have smaller weddings because you can’t wait around forever, can you?’

Ricky and Grace, who have been together since 2015, exchanged vows three years after announcing their engagement, and were joined by their beloved pet pooch Reedus.

It comes after Ricky revealed in March that he and Grace have had to postpone their wedding four times due to the ongoing Covid restrictions.

Speaking on Lorraine, the star admitted he was ‘really desperate’ to set a date and would probably tie the knot next year.

Ricky said that they didn’t want to get married without bell ringers and that they don’t want to have Covid-19 as a ‘background’ during their big day.

‘I think we’re just going to do it, want everyone to be there and not have Covid as a background, no masks.’

Ricky added: ‘The thing that stopped us this time is that we couldn’t have bell ringers, and we thought, you need bell ringers, we want bell ringers at our wedding!’

Revealing when he and Grace could potentially tie the knot, he added: ‘Probably wait till next year. We’ve got the best band in the world playing… The Function Band’ he jokingly added: ‘Not Kaiser Chiefs!’

The ‘best band in the world’ he was referencing was Hertfordshire-based The Function Band, who have delivered dazzling and wide-ranging performances for over 12 years for a host of stars and lavish events.

In September, the musician revealed he and Grace had postponed their wedding after they were scheduled to marry at The Pig hotel in Bath that month.

The pair were set to celebrate what would have been their wedding with a fish lunch in Cornwall at a restaurant they’ve tried to get into for ‘years’.

Ricky told The Mirror: ‘We weren’t allowed singing in the church which was a big thing, 15 people just isn’t enough, it is too hard to make a decision who could be there and who couldn’t.

‘I mean I am in a band with five guys. Also Grace wanted McBusted for the reception and there are too many of them for the rule of six.

‘You would like the freedom not have your brain reminded about the global pandemic when you are trying to celebrate the best day of your life. I think we will just have to wait. The weird thing is I am more excited about it now than ever.’

The duo met when they were both working on BBC’s The Voice and he popped the question in Cornwall three years later.

Ricky recently revealed that them being forced to spend more time together in lockdown has proven they’re meant to be together.

The media personality compared the pandemic to retirement and enthused knowing they can handle each other in that environment is ‘really good’.
