Manchester United and Liverpool are among seven clubs reported to have held talks with Kai Havertz to discuss a move.
German hotshot Havertz, 20, has been in-demand after his stunning form in Bayer Leverkusen’s midfield so far this season.
According to German newspaper Bild, his agent has already been in contact with a number of clubs – named as Liverpool , Manchester United , Chelsea , Manchester City , Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid .
Bayern Munich failed with a €90million offer last summer, and his value has now risen to a level where he is expected to command a huge price tag in the region of €130m (£110m).
The report tips Havertz to be the subject of a January deal, although he looks unlikely to switch clubs until the summer as he looks to shine for Germany at Euro 2020 and does not want to risk an unsuccessful move knocking him out of Joachim Low’s plans.
Havertz is said to be preparing to make a decision on his long-term future in the coming weeks, with the financial aspect not the most important part of a deal.
Instead, he is set to prioritise working with a coach he has faith in, with claims he could be tempted to stay in Germany to join Bayern Munich if they appoint Mauricio Pochettino.
Jurgen Klopp is also a major admirer of the youngster, whilst Pep Guardiola could be a significant draw at Manchester City.
Havertz certainly appears to have plenty of options to join one of Europe’s biggest clubs as he makes the first big move of his career.
Discussing his future in a recent interview with Marca, Havertz hinted he could be keen to test himself abroad – although he suggested he would wait until the end of the season before moving on.
“I think I’ve picked up enough international experience at Leverkusen,” he said.
“I know the rhythm of these international matches and I’m confident that I can go abroad at any moment and play at clubs outside of Germany.
“For the moment, I want to have a good season. Afterwards, we’ll see.”
