The Glasgow born Doctor Who and Torchwood actor who now lives Stateside urged people to get vaccinated and said if his parents in their eighties can do it, then anyone can.
He also urged people with asthma and allergies to get their vaccine after they are monitored.
John said: “I just received two videos and my mum and dad have just had their vaccines. I’m so happy, I’m so grateful and I’m so relieved.
He added: “I want to just show it because my dad is healthy, fit, fine and my mother has asthma and she has allergies. They said ‘Wait fifteen minutes. We’ll monitor you.’ They wanted to get this done and they are an example that we should all get the vaccine.
“For the naysayers, shut up, get the vaccine and lets get out of this situation and progress and get back to normal. Get the vaccine. Follow my mum and dad. Get the vaccine.”
