Jeremy Clarkson has said that he was stung on the backside by bees ‘who hate him’.

The 60-year-old Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? host has become a beekeeper on his new farm but he says he is not seeing eye-to-eye with them at the moment.

The former Top Gear host has said that his 250,000 bees have taken against him and he was stung when one got inside his protective suit and targeted his backside.

In a new show for Amazon Prime, Jeremy is looking to sell honey produced by his bees but it has not gone that well so far as he struggles to keep his bees on his side.

He said: “The bees aren’t so bad but it’s just they hate me.

“Even though I wear my full bee suit they worked out how to get into it.

“I don’t want to be lavatorial, but last time I went there, they normally get me on the ankle — the bit between the training shoe and the bottom of the suit.”

Jeremy added: “They’ve worked out that’s literally my Achilles heel.

“But this time I wore Wellingtons and I thought, ‘Ah that’ll stop them’.

“The bee got in the bottom, crawled up the Wellington, up the jeans trouser until it got between there and my T-shirt where it found an interesting crack, down it went and then stung me.”

Jeremy hasn’t revealed whether the stinging bee was traumatised by the moment but he did add: “And when you’re in a bee suit you can’t get the bee out.

“I knew it was there dying in my underpants. I just thought, ‘God this honey better sell’. It does taste nice.”

Jeremy is making a show for Amazon Prime called, I Bought A Farm, which is due to air in 2021.

Based in the Cotswolds and called Diddly Squat, Jeremy set up his own farm shop and since September has been selling his honey as well as fresh fruit and vegetables, flour, eggs and sourdough bread.
