Jennifer Aniston praises Mariah Carey's 'sad attempt' to copy Rachel haircut

Jennifer Aniston has sung Mariah Carey’s praises in a throwback post where the singer paid homage to famous Friends character Rachel Green.

Taking to Instagram, Mariah shared a cute snap of her rocking the ‘Rachel’ choppy hairstyle to her 10 million followers.

With her hair styled with a black headband, the young singer smiled at fans as she held onto the microphone wearing a sweet black and white look.

A hairstyle inspired by Jennifer’s famous character, Rachel Green, saw fans across the world try to recreate Rachel’s effortless layers.

The 51-year-old captioned the picture: “#FBF A sad attempt at the Rachel hairdo [laughing emoji] #friends”.

Mariah may have thought her style was a “sad attempt”, but she was alone in thinking that.

Jennifer Aniston, who is recognised worldwide as the face behind Rachel Green, made it clear she approved of the look.

She commented on the sweet picture, writing: “LOVE IT [flame emoji]”.

It wasn’t just the Friends actress who approved of the look, with Scandal star, Kerry Washington penning: “Nailed it!!!!!”

Fans of the singer were equally impressed with the iconic hairdo.

One of Mariah’s followers was quick to point out they didn’t agree it was a “sad” attempt, writing: “SAD? this one of my favorite hair looks! [heart eyes emoji”.

Another chimed in, saying: “How is that a sad attempt, you look FLAWLESSLY GORGEOUS”.

“Uhm Mariah, that’s not a sad attempt. That’s an iconic concert hair we all know and love!” A third wrote.

Jennifer went on to confirm that it had been reciprocated.

David continued, saying: “And at some point we were both crushing hard on each other but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary, we respected that…”
