Andrew Hendry will join Janus Henderson Group plc in February as head of distribution for Asia ex-Japan, the company announced Monday.
His predecessor, Scott Steele, who took on the role of global head of fixed income client portfolio managers in April, will work to ensure a smooth transition, said a spokesman for the firm.
Mr. Hendry will come to Janus Henderson from abrdn, formerly Aberdeen Standard Investments, where he has served as head of distribution, Asia Pacific.
An abrdn spokeswoman didn’t immediately provide details regarding abrdn’s plans to appoint a new head of distribution for the region.
In his new role, Mr. Hendry will oversee Janus Henderson’s distribution strategy for Asia, excluding Japan and Australia, tasked with growing and diversifying the firm’s business and developing “strategic client partnerships across institutional and intermediary channels,” according to a news release.
Based in Singapore, Mr. Hendry will report to Suzanne Cain, Janus Henderson’s global head of distribution.
London-based Janus Henderson had roughly $419 billion in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
