James Arthur is said to have reconciled with his ex-girlfriend Jessica Grist after splitting up six months ago.

The couple, understood to have had an on-off relationship for nine years, reportedly “stayed in touch” after their most recent break-up and have now got back together.

The singer-songwriter, 33, first began dating Jessica in 2012 when she was a back-up dancer on the X Factor – during the series of the ITV show which James went on to win.

They were believed to have split up in 2015 before getting back together two years later. It was then reported that they had split up again in May last year, having “grown apart.”

A source told the outlet: “They’ve had six months apart but have always stayed in touch, and got on very well.”

They said people close to the couple are “pleased they’re back on,” adding that there’s a “definite chemistry” and that they have been together for “the best part of a decade.”

The source further commented that it could be a “fresh start” for James and Jessica, who they said have always had “something really good” between them.
