Jake Gyllenhaal and his girlfriend both went to the Tony Awards on Sunday but they walked the red carpet separately.

The 40-year-old actor, who was nominated at the prestigious event, had French model Jeanne Cadieu, 25, supporting him on the big night even if they didn’t actually pose together for any photos.

They’ve never publicly commented on their relationship, but romance rumours go back as far as 2018.

Jake and Jeanne were both pictured arriving at the Winter Gardens Theatre in Midtown Manhattan for the annual event which celebrates the best of Broadway.

The actor stepped out in a pink suit with a matching satin cummerbund and white button down shirt as he found himself on the shortlist for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play.

He got his nomination thanks to his performance in Sea Wall/A Life, but lost out on the prize to The Inheritance’s Andrew Burnap.

Meanwhile, Cadieu didn’t actually appear by his side during the evening but stunned as she stepped out solo on the red carpet.

She was sporting a plunging red dress with heels, and posed for pictures while her man instead mingled with the likes of Cindi Lauper.

The couple were first seen together in December 2018 in Paris, and then snapped the following year in New York City.

She also attended the opening of Sea Wall/A Life in August 2019 – this year’s Tony’s are honouring productions from the past couple of years – and it’s said she met his family the same month.

Jake has been open about wanting to start a family in the future – he previously told TODAY host Willie Geist that he hopes ‘to be a father one day’ – but he’s keen to keep his personal life private.

Back in 2017, he told The Guardian: ‘I consider intimacy to be very important and I don’t think everybody needs to know about my family or my personal details.

‘I think when you’re in a relationship, you are constantly scrutinised…I would love to not talk about my personal life.’
