Jacob Rees-Mogg wife: ‘I’m done’ Rees-Mogg’s wife Helena de Chair hits out at husband

Leader of the House of Commons Jacob Rees-Mogg has defended the Prime Minister’s decision to suspend Parliament, calling it “completely constitutional and proper”. Mr Johnson announced on Wednesday he would suspend Parliament days after MPs return to work on September 3 – and has since gotten the Queen’s approval to do so. Mr Rees-Mogg told BBC Breakfast that the outrage has come from people who “are trying very hard to overturn the referendum result”.

Away from political duties, Mr Rees-Mogg is married to Helena de Chair, who he has six children with.

The couple married at Canterbury Cathedral in Kent in 2007, but have known each other since they were children.

But despite having a long and successful marriage, Helena hit out at the Commons leader and gave him a stern warning.

Mr Rees-Mogg seems to have upset his wife, when he said he was keen to have more children.

Helena said she’s “had enough”, adding at a Tory Party Conference: “I’m done!”

She continued: “I’ve told him there will be no Septimus and no Octopus.

“I’ve had enough — I’m 40. He wants more but it’s easy for him to say.”

The couple already have six children together, and Helena joked that her politician husband wanted 12.

In 2017, Mr Rees-Mogg told the Mirror: “I love having lots of children, we have as many as possible.”

But the politician also admitting to not exactly helping out much at home.

He said: “I’ve made no pretence to be a modern man at all, ever.”

During the same interview, he commented that he had never changed a nappy, stating: “I don’t think nanny would approve because I’m sure she’d think I wouldn’t do it properly.”

He also joked how the number of children was “jolly hard work” for the family nanny.

Their children are Peter Theodore Alphege, Mary Anne Charlotte Emma, Thomas Wentworth Somerset Dunstan, Anselm Charles Fitzwilliam, Alfred Wulfric Leyson Pius and Sixtus Dominic Boniface Christopher.

The names of his children are linked to Mr Rees-Mogg’s devout Catholicism.

However, he explained how he made sure to give each of his children a more normalised name which they can use if they wish.

He confessed: ”You’ve got to think what it will be like for them at school.

“People can be teased at school and they might find an unusual name is more than they want.”
