Ismaila Sarr could be the subject of yet more Liverpool transfer business.
That’s because the Reds are one of seven European giants keen on the Rennes sensation.
The 20-year-old winger thrived at the World Cup with Senegal in limited opportunities and has now attracted the interest of Jurgen Klopp.
The Sun claim the Reds are rivalling Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona, Juventus and Arsenal for the highly-rated talent.
Sarr could be the perfect back-up option for Sadio Mane or Mo Salah and even inject pace from the bench in scenarios when Liverpool are chasing games.
The asking price is said to be £50m, which could prove too steep for several of the interested clubs.
Liverpool train inside team hotel as squad recover from opening International Champions Cup tie with Dortmund
The Liverpool team were back in training on Monday following their opening International Champions Cup defeat by Dortmund.
Jurgen Klopp’s men took an early lead through Virgil van Dijk in Charlotte on Sunday night, but a Christian Pulisic double and a Jacob Bruun Larsen stoppage time effort ensured Dortmund went home with the win.
The squad recovered by taking part in a training session in the team hotel, which was led by fitness and conditioning coach Andreas Kornmayer.
The indoor session – away from the intense North Carolina sunshine – involved a series of stretching exercises on mats with cylindrical orange weights.
Mo Salah sends message of support to Loris Karius after Liverpool keeper’s latest howler
Mo Salah has leapt to the defence of teammate Loris Karius after the keeper came in for criticism for his performance against Borussia Dortmund.
Liverpool lost 3-1 to the German side on Sunday with Karius struggling between the posts.
He has since admitted his days at Anfield are numbered after the club splashed out £67million on Roma’s Alisson.
But Salah has urged the German to ignore his critics, tweeting: “Stay strong Karius, it has happened to the best of players. Ignore those who hate.”
Will Premier League clubs regret voting for the early closure of the transfer window?
