Interactive fitness platform Peleton is to open a showroom in Edinburgh

Interactive fitness platform Peleton is to open an outlet in Edinburgh.

The New York-founded fitness craze will open a showroom at St James Quarter in 2021.

The business will launch a 2,926 sq ft showroom on level three in Spring 2021 with the opening of the first retail phase of the development.

Peloton’s new location will provide consumers with the chance to experience its suite of connected fitness products, including the Peloton Bike and Peloton Bike+. Consumers will also be able to shop the latest Peloton apparel.

Peloton pioneered connected, technology-enabled fitness, and introduced its indoor Bike to a US audience in 2014.

In 2018, Peloton began international expansion, launching in the UK and Canada.

Peloton aims to bring the energy and benefits of studio-style workouts to the convenience and comfort of home.

It offers thousands of classes across a variety of disciplines complete with curated playlists from popular artists.

Chris Pyne, head of Leasing for St James Quarter, said: “Peloton has successfully combined our desire for technology within its fitness products and online training, revolutionising methods of at-home exercise which have become so important in these challenging times.

“We’re very excited to announce that they will be bringing their unique offer to St James Quarter with their new showroom.”

Martyn Clark, international director of Real Estate Development for Peloton, added: “St James Quarter stood out as a key location for us, as we continue to expand our retail footprint, and we look forward to introducing more people to the Peloton brand.”

This is the latest signing at St James Quarter which is set to open the first phase of its retail, dining and leisure elements in Spring of 2021.
