Influencers in LA are renting a room that looks like a private jet to stunt on us all

If you’ve seen a picture of an influencer frolicking in a private jet recently, it’s worth checking the photograph above.

Because, far from a G6, they might actually be in a warehouse off the M4 (well, not quite, but still not a plane).

Some influencers in the US have recently been exposed for renting a photo studio made to look like a private plane for their Instagram photos, and it’s a real through the looking glass moment.

Twitter user MaisonMelissa wrote on the social media platform: ‘Nahhhhh I just found out LA ig girlies are using studio sets that look like private jets for their Instagram pics.

‘It’s crazy that anything you’re looking at could be fake. The setting, the clothes, the body… idk it just kinda of shakes my reality a bit lol.’

With a bit of digging, we found that the space – that’s been used in photographs of Kennedy Cymone (1.6 million followers on Instagram) and Azra Mian (91k followers on Instagram) – on the platform Peerspace.

For just $64 (£50) an hour, you and up to nine friends can use the space for as many stories and TikToks as your heart desires.

The set – located in Boyle Heights in LA – is decked out to perfectly mimic a plan, including round windows with artificial light pouring in to make it as realistic as possible.

Once Twitter got wind of the new way to stunt on followers, many of those who’d posed in the ‘jet’ – including TikTok group The 7 Angels – saw their comments flooded with people letting them know the jig was up.

It’s not the first time such a thing has happened. Back in 2017, the Daily Mail reported on a similar setup inside a store that was being used by a number of influencers.

While there’s nothing wrong with posing inside a set and getting pictures that you feel look good, it might be best to add disclaimers wherever possible.

Just like when Bow Wow got busted for lying about being in a private jet, people will find out… And you will feel very stupid indeed.
