Influencers Kelly and Kody, who go by their username Positravelty on Instagram, have made a name for themselves as luxury travellers, posting stunning photography of their adventures around the globe.

But now, the attention is on them as Kody, 33, just popped the question to Kelly, 34, in a beautiful proposal… underwater.

The couple, now exploring Jamaica, shared a video of the moment it happened and their fans can’t get enough.

The clip has been watched more than 100,000 times, with thousands of congratulatory comments left on the post.

Fans are especially delighted as they’ve been asking the couple when they’re going to get married for ages.

Kody, from Michigan, and Kelly, from Louisiana, are now planning their wedding, which won’t take place until 2021.

But we can bet it will be an incredible tropical location.

Kody tells Metro.co.uk: ‘I spent a lot of this year considering my options for my proposal to Kelly. I wanted it to be as special and unique as our love story is.

‘Kelly and I met in Panamá three years ago on a remote Caribbean island. I was teaching scuba diving in the mornings and bartending in the evenings at a friend’s hostel in Bocas del Toro.

‘She was taking a break between jobs to solo travel for three months and actually met me on day two. Needless to say, she never returned to start her new job and we have been together every day since!’

A lot of the couple’s travels over the years have been to islands, chasing beach destinations, and going on diving and freediving excursions.

So it made sense to Kody to have a water-themed proposal.

‘Water has always been something that intrigues us both and is actually used in a lot of our photography to show movement,’ he says. ‘Proposing to her underwater just felt right to me and I also knew there was no way that she would expect it.

‘Being underwater is very comfortable for both of us and from the moment I decided to do it this way to when it happened, I knew this was the way.

‘Proposing underwater was exhilarating! I don’t know of a time in my life when I have been so nervous and anticipant, and yet still so calm.’

Thankfully Kelly didn’t suspect a thing as their friend Matias had come along with the pair to film them going underwater.

Kelly had thought they were doing a photoshoot for their Instagram.

‘When we swam into the cave, I noted a point on the seafloor where we would dive to and meet up for the photo,’ Kody explains.

‘I knew this was my opportunity to surprise her because I could see she was focused on that spot and not on me. As we dove down into the bottom I removed the box from my pocket and had it ready to open when her focus turned to me.’

Asked how he feels about her answer, Kody says: ‘I honestly couldn’t be happier! Kelly was shocked and completely surprised by this proposal, which was exactly what I wanted.

‘She had absolutely no idea that I was about to propose and I loved that this moment was so pure as a result.

‘I had to be so sneaky with the ring, always changing the hiding places within our camera equipment bag so that she wouldn’t accidentally find it.

‘I had been waiting for this moment for a long time and I couldn’t be happier with how the proposal went. It was perfect for us.

‘We are planning to get married in 2021 but for now, we are still celebrating, letting ourselves get caught up in the whirlwind of being happy, engaged, and in love.’
