Jadon Sancho is reportedly primed to earn more than double his weekly wage at Borussia Dortmund upon his impending move to Manchester United.

The 21-year-old looks set to finally complete his long-awaited switch to Old Trafford after years of interest from the Red Devils.

United were intent on signing Sancho last summer, but they failed to meet the Bundesliga club’s £110million asking price.

But Dortmund have now lowered their demands, and United’s latest bid of around £75m is much closer to their asking price, with there said to be optimism that a deal will be concluded next week.

Sancho registered 16 goals and 20 assists in 38 games across all competitions for Dortmund last season, but has barely featured for England at Euro 2020.

Gareth Southgate has handed him just one brief substitute appearance in the tournament over three group stage games.

Despite his lack of game time this summer, the Daily Star report that Sancho will take home £250,000-a-week at Old Trafford, which is a big increase from his basic salary of £100,000-a-week in Germany.

United came to that figure due to the England international frequently earning an additional £90,000 in weekly add-ons at Dortmund last season.

The Manchester club were initially asked for wages in the region of £350,000-a-week by Sancho’s representatives – a figure which they snubbed.

Reacting to the latest Sancho developments on Twitter, United legend Gary Neville admitted he is ‘bored’ of the imminent transfer and is looking forward to finding out their next target.

He wrote: ‘Manchester United closing in on Sancho… again!

‘A transfer should be a joy and a moment of excitement. I’ve never been more bored by a transfer in my life to the point I feel like he’s already signed and I want to know who is next already. Not the lads fault at all I should say!’
