Imogen Thomas has remembered late pal Nikki Grahame with a touching throwback to their time in the Big Brother house.
The pair, who were in Big Brother 7 together, became firm friends on the 2006 show and after Nikki’s death Imogen said she would remain silent on social media in regards to her pal.
But taking to Instagram on Friday, she wrote: “I just got sent this. Can’t believe this was 15 years ago. Our chats. Nik was wearing my top here. She would often go through my clothes and pick her faves in the hose. Love her so much. Miss you baby girl.”
After her friend’s death on April 9, Imogen thanked fans for all their messages and admitted she needed time to grieve.
She wrote: “Thank you for all your messages. I need time to grieve over my best friend. We tried everything to beat that soul destroying illness. I’m broken.
“Please hold the ones u love close and tell them you love them. Life is too short.
“There was nothing more we could do to save Nikki… I will take some time out of social media.
“Thank you again for your messages… Nik would be so touched. I’m sorry Nik. I love you.”
It had been reported that Nikki struggled to cope with lockdown, with her mum Sue admitting her daughter suffered from “terminal loneliness”.
Her last post about Nikki was before her death read:”I didnt want to state anything public about Nikki’s health as it’s a sensitive and personal matter. However I’ve been Inundated with messages asking me why I’m not supporting Nikki. This couldn’t be further from the truth.
“Nikki is in my life and is very important to me. She is my best friend. I truly do love our friendship and seeing how much of you love her has been so touching.
“Trust me when I say we have tried everything. We have been through challenging times together. I will continue to support her and her lovely family as much as I can.
“We would like to thank everybody who has donated to her GoFundMe page. If you haven’t yet donated and would like to then please see link in my bio. Thank you in advance
She was asked: “Favourite memory of Nikki during BB 2006? You and her got along great from the start'”
The Welsh beauty replied: “Omg I have so many. But during the house time she was the star. We got along amazing we both had each other’s backs. Loves all her one liners she always made me laugh even til the end.
“God I miss her so much. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about her.
“Miss our daily chats. But I take comfort in knowing she’s at peace now prob with an espresso martini in hand. RIP my beautiful girl.”
Nikki tragically died last month after recently being hospitalised to receive special treatment to beat an eating disorder.
Her pal Leon Dee started a GoFundMe to fund private treatment after Nikki “exhausted every option” on the NHS – raising more than £70,000.
