I'm A Celebrity's Ant and Dec retch in revolting first ever Bushtucker trial

I’m A Celebrity’s Ant and Dec have braved their first ever Bushtucker trials after 20 years of watching stars take on the gruelling challenges.

The Geordie duo took on a series of gruelling trials which saw them forced to swallow one of the most revolting dishes in the show’s history – raw fish eyes.

A sneak peak of them in action has been released ahead of Sunday’s I’m A Celebrity…A Jungle Story, where the hosts take a trip down memory lane of the past two decades.

In the clip, Dec admitted that he was “paralysed with fear” as Ant added: “I feel this is payback. We’ve got away with it for so long that they’re just going to throw everything at us.”

Ant then puts a fish eye in his mouth as he retches and struggles to hold down the revolting item.

The pair also faced witchetty grub, blended vomit fruit, fermented duck egg, blended cockroaches and a pig’s penis and creepy crawlies.

The cheeky duo also took part in ‘Fear Your Fears,’ where Dec had to unscrew stars while his head was encased in a helmet being filled with creepy crawlies including giant spiders and snakes.

Meanwhile, Ant tried out ‘Catch a Falling Star’, where he had to catch the stars while being covered in green slime.

Teasing fans with the grim clip, Ant and Dec tweeted: “The calm before the storm, the bush before the tucker! What have we gotten ourselves into..”

The footage, which was filmed in the Australian jungle back in 2019, will be shown on I’m A Celebrity… A Jungle Story this Sunday.

The show will also exclusively reveal which celebrities are taking part in the new 2020 series.

Sir Mo Farah, West End’s Ruthie Henshall, and EastEnders’ Shane Richie are among those who are rumoured to be taking part.

TV host Vernon Kay and Coronation Street’s Beverley Callard have also been connected to the series, while Victoria Derbyshire and Strictly Come Dancing’s AJ Pritchard are also in the running.

This year, the show has relocated to Gwyrch Castle in Abergele, Wales due to coronavirus restrictions.

Watch the I’m a Celebrity duo’s full trials on I’m A Celebrity…A Jungle Story this Sunday at 8.10pm on ITV.
