Fans of I’m a Celebrity say last night’s replacement episode just showed the series is lacking it’s charm since moving to a Welsh castle, instead of Australian jungle.
The ITV reality show usually takes place in Australia, with a camp set up in the jungle but unfortunately due to the coronavirus pandemic amendments had to be made to the show.
Last night saw a compilation episode air as the production had to be halted and celebs evacuated due to Storm Arwen wreaking havoc across the UK.
Hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly looked back on some of the best moments from over the years.
A similar show will air tonight, but fans reckon it was a bit of a mistake as fans miss the usual set up.
Viewers took to Twitter in their droves last night to say looking back on old episodes Down Under made them miss seeing the show in Australia.
One posted: “Slight backfire for ITV with the Legends #imaceleb programme just highlighting how much better it was Australia…”
“Watching this makes you realise how p**s poor it is now, just scrap it till it can be done in Australia again,” a second wrote.
While a third confessed: “This is making me miss it being in Australia so much!”
Friday night’s show was also affected with it being pre-recorded for the first time in the show’s history due to the bad weather conditions.
The future of the show is hanging in the balance after the stars were evacuated during the storm.
Show bosses were left battling the elements after the storm wreaked havoc on the castle, causing damage to production units.
It was reported that the celebrities had to be removed from the castle after high winds brought down a 100ft tree in the grounds.
A statement from ITV read: “Whilst we get the production base back up and running after suffering technical issues due to the storm, we have removed the celebrities from the castle.”
