David Ginola was not always the Mr Nice Guy as he is showing on I’m A Celebrity – as he once clashed with pundit Alan Shearer.

Popular David, 54, has become one of the favourites to win the ITV show after his caring nature after he calmed down panicked ex-Emmerdale star Danny Miller.

But David and Alan did not get along when at Newcastle United.

In his 2000 book Le Magnifique, David recalls the 1996/97 season when Alan shouted at him after he did not cross the ball, and questioned whether the Toon icon had him dropped.

He said: “The next day I saw him speaking in hushed tones with Dalglish.

“Then I was dropped for the following game.

“I had to ask myself whether Shearer had been responsible.”

David was also once nearly fought with Kenny, with the pair separated.

He wrote: “Dalglish made me feel as if I’d had an affair with his wife.”
