HAS the pandemic killed your sex drive?
You are not alone.
It’s been revealed 64 per cent of adults in a relationship have experienced lower libido over the past six months.
Here, experts recommend foods to boost your sex drive.
AVOCAD-OH!: Stephanie Taylor, from Kegel8, says: “The avocado fruit is packed full of healthy fats, vitamin B-6 and potassium, all of which boost your libido and also support the vagina’s natural ability to take care of itself.”
Giselle says: “Head to Morrisons for a pack of Naturally Wonky Avocados, £2.40 for a 1kg bag (approx five avocados).”
HARD TO BEET: Experts at Feel – a nutrition subscription firm – have created top aphrodisiac meals, including beetroot carpaccio.
Beetroot is a natural vasodilator, meaning it can boost blood flow.
You can find the carpaccio recipe at https://bit.ly/3bzsGLa
Giselle says: “I love Nature’s Pick cooked beetroot, 49p for 500g at Aldi, less than a 300g pack of Morrisons Natural cooked beetroot for 90p.”
SAVING: 41p, plus get extra 200g
GREAT SCOT: Surprisingly perhaps, Scotland’s national dish, haggis, is a libido-boosting love potion.
Dr John Babraj, nutritional expert from Abertay University, says: “Haggis has high zinc content, amino acids, protein, vitamins and slow-release energy from the oats to increase your libido and stamina.”
Giselle says: “Buy ready-made haggis at Sainsbury’s where 400g packs of Macsween Haggis are £2.80 (working out at £7 per kg), cheaper than Waitrose where 500g packs are £3.60 (£7.20 per kg).
SAVING: 20p per kilo
SPICE THINGS UP: Heat things up with chilli, which can improve blood flow downstairs and contains chemical capsaicin, known to boost testosterone levels and increase libido.
Go own-brand with Tesco Hot Chilli Powder, £1 for 100g – cheaper than Schwartz Chilli Powder Hot, £1.60 for 38g.
SAVING: 60p, plus more powder
