Hundreds of calves crammed aboard a ship were checked by Spanish government veterinarians after months at sea, suspected of contracting the bovine disease bluetongue.

The Karim Allah docked at the southeastern Spanish port of Cartagena on Thursday after struggling to find a buyer for its almost 900 cattle
