STRICTLY Come Dancing has seen some seriously painful – and public – break-ups over the years, but some stars have quickstepped their way out of heartbreak.
In fact, many of the victims of the so-called ‘curse’ are doing better than ever now – with pro dancer Neil Jones the latest to have moved on and found happiness.
Neil was left heartbroken following his split from wife Katya Jones a year ago after she was pictured kissing her on-screen partner Seann Walsh – but he’s now found love with stunning Colombian dancer Luisa Eusse.
The pair met while he was visiting South America eight months ago, and a source told us: “Neil is smitten with Luisa and they’re a very sweet couple.”
However, he’s not the only former partner to come out happier than ever, and everyone from Jamie Redknapp to Seann’s ex Rebecca Humphries have completely transformed their life since their break-ups.
Meanwhile, Karen Clifton’s ex Kevin is head over heels with Stacey Dooley, who he met on the show, and former ‘curse victims’ Matt Di Angelo and Vincent Simone have found love since their failed relationships with Flavia Cacace.
Here we look at how they’ve come out on top following their horribly public heartbreak…
There’s nothing quite like a revenge body to bounce back, but Anthony Quinlan has taken it to a whole new level with his recent transformation.
The Emmerdale actor split from Dianne Buswell in October 2018 after she became close to her dance partner Joe Sugg on the show.
He later revealed that it was actually the distance that caused the relationship to fail, however, telling us: “Over the ten months in which we were dating, it was very up and down.”
Dianne is now in a relationship with Joe, but it hasn’t got Anthony – who plays Pete Barton on the ITV soap – too down, as he has wowed fans recently with an insane new look.
He showed off his ripped body in a sweaty video on Instagram, before detailing his incredible workout, which had been designed by Crossfit Consilium in Manchester.
One appreciative fan wrote: “U look to be in best shape of ur life Quinny”
“Ripped,” added another. And a third gushed: “Looking so fit – looks like you’ve been hard at it lately.”
In addition to being an actor, Anthony is also a qualified personal trainer and regularly hosts bootcamp sessions and classes.
In what was possibly the BBC show’s biggest scandal to date, Seann Walsh and his pro partner Katya Jones were pictured sharing a kiss in 2018 – despite both being in relationships at the time.
But it’s not just Katya’s ex Neil that has moved on – Seann’s ex Rebecca is much happier now too.
Rebecca won huge praise at the time when she posted a blistering tweet shortly after the photos were published, insisting she wasn’t a victim and confirming she had dumped him.
And writing in a first-person piece for Elle magazine almost a year later, she admitted she’d felt nervous about Seann appearing on the show from word go – having seen how many couples had split on it previously.
However, she added: “I’ve become a better writer, a better friend, and a more open, optimistic person.
“And I owe it all to my worst nightmare.”
She has since starred in steamy BBC drama Trigonometry, while her ex Seann has moved on with new girlfriend Grace Adderley.
Kevin and Karen Clifton were one of the most famous pro couples on Strictly at one point, but they confirmed they were splitting in March 2018.
During the 2017 series of Strictly, their communication reportedly “became strained” due to their hectic work schedules and long-distance commutes.
The Sun exclusively revealed in December 2017, however, that Karen had been dating an accountant as her marriage hit the rocks.
Despite the split, the pair remain close and have spoken about their desire to remain friends following their divorce.
Kevin, 37, has put the sour patch behind him since and moved on with Stacey Dooley, who he was partnered with on the show.
The Sun previously revealed that Stacey had split from her long-term boyfriend of three years Sam Tucknott before she went public with Kevin.
The star, 33, recently moved into her new pad with her boyfriend, with the pair looking truly loved up together.
Former footballer Jamie Redknapp, 47, and his former wife Louise had been hailed for having one of the strongest marriages in showbiz.
But cracks began to appear after Louise’s stint on Strictly Come Dancing in 2016 when she was partnered with Kevin, who at the time was married to Karen.
While nothing happened between them, the Redknapps announced they had separated ten months after the show ended.
But despite the heartbreaking time, Jamie is now said to be dating Swedish model Frida Andersson-Lourie, 37.
A source revealed that father-of-two Jamie met the mum of four through mutual friends – and that they have similar interests.
They described divorced Frida as “fun- loving and kind”, adding: “Jamie feels ready to move on from his marriage to Louise and is happy to be doing it with someone who has kids too and is financially secure.
“It’s early days for Jamie and Frida, but they have grown close and are really enjoying spending time together when they can.”
Vincent Simone and his long-term partner Flavia Cacace were once the most loved up pro couple on the show.
Yet their relationship fell apart in 2007 amid reports she was growing close to EastEnders actor Matt Di Angelo.
While the pair did go on to get together, Matt always insisted nothing happened while Flavia was with Vincent – and he didn’t even let himself fancy her until he knew she was single.
Flavia later conceded the public attention over her new romance with Matt would have been hard on Vincent.
She told the Telegraph: “It all happened in the most atrocious way. My relationship with Matt was really hyped up, which was very painful for Vincent.”
However, while he was left broken-hearted at the time, Vincent has remained friends with his ex and is now happier than ever with wife Susan, who he married in 2015.
The pair have two sons together, Luca and Matteo, who were born in 2009 and 2013.

While Matt enjoyed a romance with Flavia following her split from Vincent, they later broke up after three years – blaming their busy work schedules at the time.
Flavia told The Sun: “We have broken up. It was due to our work – travelling so much and being away from home so much. We are still in touch and very good friends.”
Flavia was linked to her then-Strictly partner Jimi just weeks after announcing her split from Matt, who is best known for playing Dean Wicks in EastEnders. She has since gone on to marry him.
Despite the difficult break-up playing out in the public eye, Matt is now engaged to stunning fiancee Sophia Perry.
The pair regularly pose for loved up photos together on Instagram, looking head over heels.
Camilla, 46, became the first victim of the ‘Strictly Curse’ after her then-fiance Brendan Cole, 44, was rumoured to have grown particularly close to his celeb partner, Natasha Kaplinsky, in 2004.
The pair denied allegations of an affair at the time, but a devastated Camilla split from Brendan saying the break-up “was like a mini-death”.
She has since found happiness with former Hollyoaks star Kevin Sacre, who she married in 2010.
She is also a successful lifecoach, hypnotherapist and mindful living expert.
Brendan told the Sunday People of the supposed ‘curse’: “It’s intense. Think about it.
“If you go to work with somebody every single day – hands on – and you’re working towards the same goal and you’ve got chemistry and this incredible experience that everyone loves to talk about, it’s only natural it’s going to happen occasionally.”
He is now happily married to former model Zoe Hobbs, who he shares daughter Aurelia, seven, and son Dante, two, with.
