Greta Thunberg is coming to a big screen in the Capital

The documentary by Swedish director, Nathan Grossman, follows Greta’s rise to fame using exclusive footage. The Vue cinema chain has even managed to bag an exclusive Q&A with the climate warrior herself.

The 3pm special screening will show how the shy schoolgirl catalysed a global movement, with schools around the world following in Greta’s footsteps to strike and take action in the fight against climate change.

It concludes with the activist’s wind-powered journey across the Atlantic Ocean to speak at the UN Climate Action Summit in New York City.

Greta, a 17-year-old, has earned a global following and widespread admiration, and some harsh criticism, for her views.

General Manager at Vue Edinburgh Omni, Robert Smith, said: “It’s great to be able to bring content such as this to the big screen at both Vue Edinburgh Omni and Ocean Terminal.

“Greta has become a household name for many in recent years, although the full details of her rise to prominence may not being so familiar to us all. This documentary provides a great insight into how this young girl has managed to have such a global impact.

“Showing in the ultimate audio and picture quality, we hope our viewers will be able to come along and immerse themselves in this true story.”

Measures introduced by the cinema will allow viewers to do so in a safe and Covid friendly manner.
