Gordon Ramsay's daughter spent 3 months in hospital after two sexual assaults

Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Holly revealed that she spent three months in a mental health hospital after being sexually assaulted twice.

The 21-year-old daughter of television chef Gordon bravely opened up about her experiences of suffering from PTSD while she was studying at university some years earlier.

Reflecting upon her mental health battle when she was studying at Ravensbourne University, Holly revealed that she was eventually admitted to London’s Nightingale Hospital.

Speaking about her experiences in her podcast 21 & Over with Holly Ramsay, she revealed that her PTSD was linked to experiencing two sexual assaults when she was 18 years old.

Announcing the launch of her latest podcast on social media, Holly revealed yesterday: “I hope by listening, we can continue to break the stigma surrounding our mental health.”

Holly then revealed in the podcast: “I went to university, studied fashion design, and I loved it. But by the second half of the first year I was being affected by my PTSD and I had no idea that this was happening.

“I was going out a lot, I was missing class because I’d been out. I was going clubbing way too much. I wasn’t enjoying myself. I was struggling a lot more but didn’t notice because I thought it was just a hangover,” Holly explained.

“I then left university after my first year because I was admitted to the Nightingale Hospital as an in-patient for three months.

Holly then added: “The PTSD was a result of two sexual assaults when I was 18.

“I didn’t tell anyone about it until a year afterward… I just buried it in a box in the back of my mind.”

Holly explained that she was diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety and depression during her stay at the private hospital.

“Since then, I have been in therapy up to three times a week. I now have these diagnoses that I carry around with me. It’s confusing and I’m trying to take control of my narrative and use that to make something good.”

Holly hopes that her new podcast will be able to help and encourage others to shake the stigma that surrounds mental health. By bringing the conversation to the forefront, Gordon’s daughter wants to help others reach a happier and healthier frame of mind.

Gordon and his wife Tana are proud parents to Meghan, 23, twins Holly and Jack, 21, as well as Mathilda, 19, and two year old Oscar.

Following the release of her latest podcast, Holly also thanked her family for their continued support: “Lastly thank you to Dad, Mum, Meg, Jack, Tilly & Oscar – you’ve been the greatest unconditional support for me, I love you x.”
