Glenn Murray injury latest after going off early in Brighton's midweek win

Brighton have received a massive boost after news that top scorer Glenn Murray has NOT dislocated his shoulder — and could even be fit to face Burnley on Saturday.

Murray, who has eight goals in the Premier League this season, had to come off after 35 minutes of Tuesday’s derby victory over Crystal Palace when he injured his shoulder in an awkward fall.

Brighton boss Chris Hughton immediately feared the worst — but says medical reports have been positive.

“Glenn is a tough individual so for him to go down it has to be bad,” said Hughton. “And when you see it’s his shoulder the first thing you think about its whether he has dislocated it. Thankfully that’s not the case, so that’s good news.

“We’ll assess him on Friday but I think he has every chance of of being available Saturday – and if not then we expect him to be fit for Chelsea the following weekend.”

Murray, who opened the scoring against former club Palace, will have a fitness test ahead of the trip to Turf Moor.

Hughton added: “We will base it on whether it’s right for Glenn. It’s about his coping levels.”
