GERMANY V HUNGARY
Germany take on Hungary tonight with both teams harbouring hopes of reaching Euro 2020’s knockout stage.
Joachim Low’s men beat Portugal last time out, but the Hungarians will be on a high following their excellent draw with France.
The build-up has been disturbed by yet another UEFA PR disaster as they refused Germany the rights to light their stadium up in rainbow colours.
More on that soon….
It was dubbed the ‘group of death’ prior to a ball being kicked and all four teams have a chance of qualification tonight.
Germany currently sit in second place on three points and have their eyes on leapfrogging France and winning Group F.
The French play Portugal in the other group at the same time this evening.
Hungary’s showing last time out against France was promising and they too will be eager to reach the next stage of the competition.
They bring up the rear on one point but a win tonight coupled with a France victory will see the outsiders through in second place.
Thomas Muller has picked up a knee injury and will miss this game, with the Bayern star potentially out until the quarter-finals.
Mats Hummels is also dealing with a knock but is expected to feature.
Adam Szalai left the field against France with a head injury and isn’t expected to be able to play tonight.
It’s an exciting finale to the most intriguing group and we get underway in Munich at 8pm – team news on the way!
