If Gary and Dawn first met in the Eighties that means they were both teenagers at the time, with Gary being around 17 in 1988 and Dawn 18.

The couple began dating in 1995 after Dawn joined Take That as a backup dancer on their Nobody Else tour and they’ve been together ever since.

Although Gary was always smitten, Dawn admitted it wasn’t love at first sight for her, telling OK!: “He grew on me. We ate our dinner together each night and became friends first.”

Despite Take That members having a no girlfriends rule at the time, Gary flouted this to take Dawn as his date to the 1996 BRIT Awards.

The couple tied the knot in 2000 and are now parents to three children; Daniel, 21, Emily, 19, and 12-year-old Daisy.

Sadly their fourth child, a daughter called Poppy, was stillborn in 2012.

Their bereavement only made Gary and Dawn stronger and they are have one of the most long-standing unions in British showbiz.

Gary has even said he wants to renew his wedding vows with his “amazing wife” one day, adding: “That’s definitely on the agenda.”
