AN Aussie woman wanted by police has hit out at cops over the mugshot they used on a Facebook post seeking help to track her down.
Tiffany Anne Brislane, 23, is wanted in Newcastle, Australia, accused of stealing – but took issue with the “trailer trash” snap police used of her.
In the picture, taken in 2015, a rather distressed young woman can be seen with her hair in a messy bun.
On her collarbone, a tattoo reads: “We don’t remember days, we remember moments”.
Posted to the Newcastle City Police District Facebook page, the rather unfortunate mug shot was also captioned: “We ask the community for information relating to her whereabouts only.
“Please refrain from comments that are prejudicial or offensive”.
But, the post was inundated with comments on Brislane’s appearance.
While some were genuinely sympathetic – others were more colourful.
This prompted the wanted 23-year-old to take matters into her own hands.
Using her own personal Facebook, Brislane wrote: “Loving the photo taken how many years ago.
“Let’s calm down on the comments guys.
“It’s not everyday I look like trailer trash. Let’s just say it wasn’t a good angle shall we”.
But police quickly replied: “[It’s] probably time you walk into a police station before we find you”.
Then taking to her own page, Brislane wrote: “Here’s an actual pic of me. Let’s take the time to acknowledge this is not my current Newcastle police page photo they’ve decided to upload from 2015”.
One person, who appeared to know Brislane personally wrote on the post: “No one knows what happened the day of this photo and if they knew half of the reasons for it and if they did they would be disgusted in their comments [sic]”.
