Flight attendant proposes to pilot girlfriend on Pride plane

They say falling in love can feel rather like soaring high above the clouds, all the cares of the world far below you, and for one happy couple, this is quite literally the case.

Flight Attendant Veronica recently got down on bended knee to ask her pilot girlfriend Alejandra to marry her, two years after the pair first locked eyes aboard an Alaska Airlines flight.

Veronica, who works for Alaska Airlines’ regional partner SkyWest, planned her proposal aboard the airline’s special ‘Fly with Pride” plane on a flight from San Francisco to Los Angeles on June 15, shortly before their two year anniversary.

In heartwarming footage taken by fellow airline employee Maria Cid, the lovebirds can be seen at the head of the cabin, with Alejandra using the PA system to announce it would be their anniversary on June 21.

After admitting she hadn’t much impressed Alejandra with her Spanish during their first meeting, Veronica revealed she’s since been practicing, and popped the all-important question in both Spanish and English.

The crowd cheered and applauded joyously as a delighted Alejandra gladly accepted, and the newly engaged couple shared a celebratory kiss. At this point, Veronica didn’t know Alejandra had been planning a similarly romantic gesture.

Upon arriving at the gate at LAX, it was Alejandra’s turn to drop to one knee, presenting an engagement ring of her own to her brand new fiancée.

Alejandra said: “It’s awesome, I feel very, very loved today. Alaska has always been my number one forever. I can definitely tell how much they care.”
