Fed Govt to control flood around River Kaduna

 AbdulGafar Alabelewe, Kaduna

AS part of measures to address flooding which claims lives and property annually, the Federal Government has perfected plans to establish flood control project, by building walls along the banks of River Kaduna.

The project, it said when completed, would protect residents who battle with flood annually from losing farmlands and properties whenever the River overflows its banks after heavy rainfall.

This is as the Kaduna State Government raised the alarm over threats of pollution to River Kaduna as a result of human activities such as dumping of solid, faecal and industrial wastes, which have negative effects on the purity of the river and marine lives.
