Now Express.co.uk us asking you, our readers, is it right for the Tory party to sell access to the country’s next Prime Minister?
In order to raise funds for the Conservative Party, officials held a private members event in Hurlingham Club on the River Thames, which was attended by Theresa May, Mr Hunt and Mr Johnson.
Two unidentified donors bought the meal for 10 with either Mr Hunt or Mr Johnson after competing in a “bidding war” for the prize.

The pair managed to compromise and split it by paying £150,000 each, according to the Mirror.
The auction comes just months after a Russian banker enjoyed a girls night out with outgoing Prime Minister Theresa May.
Donor Lubov Chernukhin enjoyed an evening with Mrs May at the Goring Hotel in Belgravia alongside other top politicians after forking out £135,000 at the Tories’ Black and White ball earlier this year.
Mrs Chernukhin husband Vladimir Chernukhin was a former ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
But Mr Chernukhin says he has since fallen out with the Russian leader.
Also up for grabs at the recent summer party was a walk with former Tory leadership contender Rory Stewart, a £15,000 Scottish hunting trip and a £40,000 private champagne party for 100 at the London Cabaret Club in Bloomsbury.
