Cops said he was murdered by two suspected motorbike assassins who opened fire through his window before fleeing.

Photos shared on social media showed the car windshield that was riddled with bullet holes.

Police spokesperson, Lt-Col Lungelo Dlamini said: “Police are investigating a murder case after a former soccer player, Mark Bachelor was attacked by two men driving a motorbike in Olivedale outside his house.

“He was shot several times and died inside his vehicle.”

PISTORIUS ‘THREAT’

He added: “The suspects then drove away without taking anything.

“The motive for the attack is still unknown. No one has been arrested.”

Batchelor, a former striker with South African side Kaizer Chiefs, had previously feuded with Pistiorius before the paralympian was jailed for murdering girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

The ex-footballer claimed “blade runner” Pistorius threatened to break his legs after believing he had slept with his then-girlfriend Samantha Taylor.

ATTENDED TRIAL

Batchelor attended Pistorius’ initial trial in 2014 which ended with the athlete being convicted of culpable homicide.

The conviction was later upgraded to murder on appeal.

Batchelor regularly sat with Ms Steenkamp’s family during the historic trial.

Pistorius shot dead Ms Steenkamp in the early hours of Valentine’s Day in 2013.

He opened fire on her through the locked door of the bathroom – late claiming he believed she was an intruder.

Batchelor played for Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana before moving into TV punditry following his retirement from the game.
