Everton star Richarlison thinks Carlo Ancelotti has already got his own Cristiano Ronaldo

Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has drawn comparisons to to Juventus hitman Cristiano Ronaldo. Calvert-Lewin, 23, has made an incredible start to the new domestic season.

The former Sheffield United man has scored an impressive six goals in four appearances for Carlo Ancelotti’s side this season, much to the delight of the Goodison Park faithful.

Calvert-Lewin’s fine form has been rewarded with a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the upcoming friendly against Wales and the Three Lions’ Nations League clashes with Belgium and Denmark.

Among those thoroughly impressed by Calvert-Lewin’s fine form is his Toffees’ team-mate Richarlison, who has linked his current run of form to that of the prolific Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Dominic’s development has been really impressive,” the Brazilian said of Calvert-Lewin in an interview with FIFA’s official website.

Calvert-Lewin is relishing the opportunity to make his international debut, saying: “I’ve not played my first game yet but I’m just looking forward to it and am excited just to get on the pitch.

“I’m sure that the Premier League is the best league in the world, I’m playing there consistently well at the moment so I’ve got no fears in playing for England.

“It’s a kid’s dream to play for the country and I’m very privileged to be here now.

“I don’t think you can ever plan how you’re going to feel when you first get called up for your country and for me I’ve thought about it for a long time and I’ve worked extremely hard to get here.

“I was obviously concentrating on playing for Everton and winning games.

“As the time nears you hope you might be in the manager’s thoughts to be called up to your country.

“For me to be here, it’s something that I have thought long and hard about and dreamed of for a long time.”
