Now these are a few names we didn’t think would be in such a lovely 2020 news story: Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston and Piers Morgan.
What a trio!
After Brad and Jen reunited once more at the Screen Actors Guild awards overnight and were pictured together for the first time pretty much since their 2005 split, the world has gone a little gaga.
It’s like the Golden Globes all over again, but turned up to 11 – because Brad and Jen weren’t pictured together together that night.
While we’re all losing it over the backstage love-in of these two firm friends, it seems Good Morning Britain presenter Piers is also feeling the love and has dropped his thoughts on whether or not the Hollywood pair will get back together.
As he caught up on the night’s entertainment news before taking to the GMB desk alongside Susanna Reid on Monday morning, Piers shared a well-circulated photo of Brad and Jen about to embrace.
‘It’s going to happen, isn’t it…’ Piers wrote ominously, like it was bad news, or something. He then added the telling tag: #BradJen2.
Whether or not the tone was of an ecstatic teen girl (read: like ours) it’s evident the impending Hollywood chatter of ‘are they or aren’t they’ to happen today has been fuelled by the presenter.
And, honestly, we couldn’t be more supportive.
When GMB was on air, Piers brought up the couple again, saying we all needed a little Brad and Jen. Again – you’ve got a praise hands emoji from us, Piers.
‘I tell you what my money’s on – here’s a happy story. These two. Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, at the SAG awards last night. He doesn’t want to let her go look,’ Piers said. ‘When she’s giving her speech later, look at him backstage, transfixed. I think the way they’re looking at each other, that ship may have already sailed I think.
‘That looked to me that there was a bit of electricity in the room.
‘We need a bit of that, we need a bit of Brad and Jen.’
Yes we do.
The formerly married couple, who divorced in 2005, were pictured together for the first time in years backstage after Jennifer, 50, had accepted her award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series for her role in The Morning Show.
Brad, 56, was also mingling in the winners’ room after scooping outstanding performance by a male actor in a supporting role for playing Cliff Booth in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
The show producers worked their magic well to make sure those two would be backstage at the same time, didn’t they?
And then they bumped into each other giving us all the photo opportunity we’ve dreamed about since their devastating split 15 years ago. The pair seemed thrilled to see each other and briefly had a chat before Jennifer walked off to continue her evening, but not before embracing hands with Brad who watched after her. That hand-hold though!
It follows on from the Golden Globe awards, which went down earlier this month, in which Jen was seen gazing adoringly up at Brad as he gave his best supporting actor speech.
Hearts melted and, well, now these photos exist, and Piers is in on it, we just don’t know where to go from here.
Gosh darn, why did 2005 have to happen?
